Inclusion Program
We feel at The Village it is crucial to embrace the specific learning styles of each and every student. To appropriately support students of different learning styles The Village hires a teaching and aide staff who hold bachelor's degrees in the area of child development. The Village enrolls 25% of each class with children with special needs who are able to benefit from learning from their peers and in a generalized setting. Research suggests that children, who are included with peers with special needs, benefit two times as much as students who are not in an inclusive setting. Anyone who would like more information on the subject of special needs inclusion should feel free to contact our office.

Assessments & Kinder Readiness
Each student at The Village is given a developmental assessment at intake; one time per year and again at their exit from the program. The assessment is a developmental tool from The Creative Curriculum and covers skill areas such as language, play, self help and social emotional development.
Each student attending The village the year prior to entering kindergarten is assessed and worked with each week using kinder readiness tools from all surrounding school districts. Information such as letter recognition, writing their name, self portraits and number skills are collected throughout the year. This binder is given to each family as the time nears when they are meeting with their prospective kindergarten teachers and going through their school assessments.
